Learn to LOVE Craiglist

I've learned to rely on others more than I've ever been used too, and a lot of this came from Craigslist. Before moving to California I lived on my own in a two bedroom house and lived on my own easily. When I moved here I realized I had to have roommates to afford the cost of living here. This taught me that I was going to have to rely on others and hope for the best. This was a very scary feeling knowing that if I couldn't find good roommates I could potentially be stuck without a house.
So upon moving here I got very familiar with Craigslist. I hadn't ever used this site before because there simply weren't enough people in Wyoming. This website found me roommates within a week, and after a few months I found two jobs with Craigslist. This website offers many different tools and has tons of different categories of things around you. Since I moved here with nothing more than my clothes and an air mattress I needed to find furniture for my room. I went to Craigslist for this and found my bed, a desk, dressers, lamps, and other miscellaneous things. I started relying on people and giving it a shot to see if they would help me. One item I got from Craigslist was free, which is my desk. This was a blessing because I didn't have a vehicle to moved the desk so I asked the man if there was anyway he could help me out. He immediately said yes no problem come on down here we will load it up and i'll bring it over. After we arrived at my house he offered to move it into the house and after we got it in there he offered to reassemble the desk because it could be confusing. This took an hour and a half out of his day. This was a free desk let me remind you and he did it out of the kindness of his heart. I offered him 50 bucks for his help and he denied the money and asked that I pay it forward. He mentioned that he had a daughter in college and hoped others would do it for her.
Also Craigslist has helped me find 4 different jobs since I've been here. I started off rough with not so great of jobs, and I was constantly looking for something better and I always went straight to Craigslist to find new job opportunities. Another thing Craigslist has helped me do is find a new place to live. It shows more than most realtors can offer when it comes to renting a new place.
Overall Craigslist can be a huge help with your move and can save you money and time. Without Craigslist I wouldn't have half of what I have now. Actually I would probably live in Wyoming again due to not finding a place to live that I could afford. It brought me into a house with good roommates, got me a bed, a job, and its now gotten me a home.
